Building a Digital Strategy in 5 Steps
A digital strategy isn't a 40-page document: it's a series of clear decisions that align your actions with a goal. Without it, you publish randomly, test ten channels at once, and exhaust yourself without results. Here's the method in five steps.
1. Set the goal
What do you want, concretely? More customers in-store, quotes, online sales, brand awareness? A single main goal at a time guides everything else.
2. Know your target audience
Who are you talking to? Describe your ideal customer: their needs, their barriers, where they look for information. You don’t communicate the same way with a busy individual as with a business executive.
3. Clarify your offer and message
Why you instead of someone else? Formulate your value proposition in one sentence that everyone can understand. This is the foundation of all your content and advertising.
4. Choose your channels
There’s no need to be everywhere. Select 1 to 3 channels where your target audience is: local SEO and Google Business Profile for a shop, visual platforms for a brand, LinkedIn for B2B.
5. Decide how to measure
Set your key performance indicators in advance (contacts, sales, cost per customer). What isn’t measured can’t be improved.
Key takeaway: A good strategy fits on one page. It keeps you from chasing every new trend and focuses your efforts where they pay off.
